Post-Prandial: 5-30-2002

Man, sometimes I feel like I'm such a sucker for having to go to work all the time. I was at a dinner party the night before last with a few friends and aquaintances. It was a nice time, switching between the apartment we were in and the roof of the building. Also, since the person giving the dinner lived right across the hall from me, I was able to run into my place and check the score of the Lakers game everyonce in a while. Anyway, before I knew it, it was 1:30 and I still hadn't done any of the stuff I wanted to do that night (some painting, work with my computer, etc). Turns out every one of the people I was hanging out with didn't have to wake up the next day (Wednesday) for some reason. One was on hiatus for the summer, one's a bartender and doesn't have to go to work until 6PM, one works for Penthouse and thus starts work later in the day, etc etc. I mean, I don't get to work until 10AM, and I sometimes take flack for that.

I'm never feeling bad for it again. I will, however, feel bad for bringing in bedding and curling up under my desk for my daily mid-day post-prandial nap.

I'm working on something in my room. Someone who I take seriously in these matters says that it's art, but I'm not sure I buy it. I've been thinking about cryptology a lot recently, and recalling my interest in pseudo-scientific occult arts (astrology, Qabala, etc). So I'm doing some work in my room (I haven't gotten very far yet; a little has gone up on the walls, but it's primarily in the planning stage right now) trying to combine my interests in computers, the aforementioned thought systems, and my desire to make something interesting to look at. Currently it involves picking numbers and letters out of the bible at random - but I'm going to automate the process soon. Anyway, once I get 50% through it, maybe I'll try to post some pictures up and guide you all through what I'm trying to do. Also - if anyone wants to let me borrow their digital camera so I can get pics of the apartment up on the blog, I'd be very grateful.

What else...... Oh yeah. This morning when I woke up and went to the shower, Jeff was asleep in the living room again. Since my new room has a door that makes noise when opened, he was started awake and apologized for sleeping there saying "Yeah I don't know, I scarcely ever do stuff like that - I always make it to my room." Which is funny, since I'm not sure he's ever actually slept in the apartment and *not* been in the living room.
