Another one bites the dust: 7-8-2002
Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? There's been a serious dearth of updates all over alltooflat. That's happening for a whole bunch of reasons. First, and most importantly, the three of us have run right out of funny. We've been looking for ways to bring our levels back up (dressing up for Men in Black II, learning to juggle rubber chickens, etc) but it's been tough. Also, the three of us have been on vacation from our jobs (both at ATF and in the real world) on and off for the past week or so. And finally, the Alltooflat FTP has run out of space, and we're having some trouble getting it to recognize that we've deleted files. Kind of a disaster. In any case, we're doing the best we can. I wonder if we should consider moving to a different host...
In any case, there are things to discuss. I finally got a digital camera into the apartment (which has to be returned to it's owner tonight), and so I was able to take some pictures of the place. Which is good, because I'm moving out in a couple of weeks and didn't have that much time left. I'll get them downloaded from the camera, and I'll upload them as soon as I can.
So, remember when I said that Maria moved in last week? Well, two days after she moved all of her stuff in ( a non-trivial amount of stuff, even discounting the bike), she came into my room. I believe had just seen Audrey Horn tell her uncle that Ben's illness meant that she got control of the family finances (Twin Peaks episode 22, I believe), when Maria told me that she was moving out the next day. Evidentally she doesn't have the credit to be able to take the place. A total of 48 hours, and out she goes. For those of you keeping track, that's 3 roommates in 4 months. A vaguely disturbing average, if you ask me.
There was a note on the table when I got into the apartment last night that said that a guy named Rob was going to be moving in soon. I assuming it's Rob Cockerham, and am geting myself all worked up with excitement. I wonder how this guy is going to feel when I meet him and express extreme disappointment.
I also wonder if it's things like this that have people moving out all the time.
What else... Oh, I may have mentioned that among the things I found in the room that I moved into was two pair of speakers. Last night I set them up in the living room, and ran wires to my stereo. Since my stereo is awesome, I can play music out of the A set in my room, or the B set in the living room, or both at the same time. So huge. That's it for now. More tommorrow (assuming I can even upload this today).
