I'm not wearing any pants: 12-11-2003
Looking at the weather for tommorrow (a warmer day, causing all of the remaining snow to melt, and torrential downpours), I'm beginning to think that it might be time to replace that umbrella I lost a few months ago. It wasn't a very good umbrella, which is funny, since it was so popular. It was, in fact, the exact same umbrella that every third New Yorker carries, which (not coincidentally) is the only model of umbrella they sell in subway kiosks and street-side newsstands (except that one newsstand at the 53rd St. V train stop. They sell more colors and varieties at that shop than in any accessories store in Seattle (which isn't that surprising, since from my experience, Seattleans (?) have a deep seated fear of admitting that Seattle has (in addition to very friendly people and the best durn Jimi Hendrix museum I've ever seen) a damper wet season than the Mariana Trench.
Crap. I was writing while brushing my teeth, and kind of lost track of how much foam was collecting, and proceeded to drool over my pajama pants. This is disappointing because it is not only indicative of the fact that I'm clearly an idiot, but it also represents the third time I've had to change my clothes tonight. The first being when I spilled pasta sauce on my flannel pajama pants, and the second being apple juice on my boxers (which I was wearing in the living room, in clear contradiction to strictly defined apartment rules). I think this means I'm sleeping au natural tonight. I hope that doesn't shock and/or disturb anyone.
I have a little confession to make. I've been watching a lot more Law & Order lately. I mean, sort of. When measured as a percent of Law & Order shown on television, I'm watching exactly the same amount of Law & Order. It's just that, they've REALLY upped the amount that their showing, and I'm watching all of it. As far as I can tell, most night it starts at 7PM, and runs until I have to leave for work the next day (on three different channels). It's a problem. Over the Thanksgiving holiday (my first day off - woo hoo!), there was a Law & Order marathon on one channel, and a West Wing marathon on another. I was so happy, I wept. And through my tears, I saw Rob Lowe, and it comforted me. I feel a little uncomfortable about the entire thing.
Alright, that's that for now. It's time for Lenny to bust out the wisecrack, and I'm not going to miss that.
