Housemate Update: 5-16-2002
Huh, well, we'll see what we get to today. I was going to talk about the First Night, but that might have to wait. Depends on how long I go on about this morning.
So the mystery is solved! Well, sort of. Last night at around 3:30, one of my housemates came into the apartment and started banging around (I had been in bed for a while by then, dreaming sweet dreams of... well, nothing appropriate). He called out for me a couple of times, but I was in no mood to have a conversation with him about anything at that hour, so I remained in bed.
This morning when I was getting ready for work, everything was right with the world - He was sleeping in the living room on the couch. (He does have a bed, and I'm not really sure why he sleeps there all the time. I've spent a fair amount of time on that couch, and the only way I'd sleep there is if the girl I have a crush on was there also. And ever since that restraining order, the probability of that happening has dropped considerably). Woke up when I was making my bag lunch, and we chatted for a bit. Upon me telling him that I hadn't seen the other housemate since the weekend, Jeff decided that Jorge had skipped out on the money that was owed him (almost a grand) and that we should sell the stuff that Jorge left. Some nice things, too.
So if anyone wants a stack of playboy special edition magazines (College Girls, Body Language... things like that), just contact me and we'll work something out. I'm taking the mixing board that he left, so hands off. What kind of guy ditches out on a thousand dollars of debt to a student, anyway? And to think I was going to make him King of the Spring Festival.
Also, some news on the housemate search front: It looks like there's a fairly good change that someone *I* found will be moving in relatively soon. A friend of Kate (who is a friend of mine and who you can see being carried over some sort of threshold here) seems interested in moving in, at least for a little while. Which is seriously great, since that takes some major pressure off of my living situation. She has a cat, and had a ferret. The ferret part got me really excited (maybe that's a bad choice of words), but evidentally she had to have it put down this past weekend. Which is probably the worst news I've heard all week. Figure I'll leave you with that, you know - leave you wanting more.
